Day 3 - A Film You Watch to Feel Good

Readers, I am almost embarrassed to tell you what movie I watch to feel good. But then I remembered something that someone I used to be really close to said. He said that he doesn't have any guilty pleasures. If he likes something, he likes it, and he's not ashamed of that. I suppose that's a really good way to think. Well here it is, folks. My Guilty Pleasure The movie I watch to feel good:

Peewee's Big Adventure.

Excuse me, wtf?

Yeah, that's right. I think Peewee Herman is awesome. No, this is not a joke. The wise words I mentioned above aside, this is a really embarrassing confession.

You know you liiiike it.

Now that this is up on the internet forever and ever, I may aswell be loud and proud about this. I think Peewee Herman is hilarious. My darling Father even sucks it up and watches it with me sometimes.

What a patient father you have.

Now, in all fairness, I have only seen this movie twice. The 1st time was when I had my heart broken for the first time 2 years ago. I ate orange popsicles and my dad and I watched Peewee Herman. I laughed. It was good times.
The second time I watched it I was feeling pretty blue and it must have been around the time of my surgery.

As I type this, my cat is running around and meowing like she's possessed.
(I also have hardwood floors so I laugh as she slides around and crashes and burns)

Pretty Much what I have to deal with on a daily basis.

Right, back to Peewee's Big Adventure. It's a really silly movie, there's nothing particularly special about it. I just really like the part where Peewee does a Mr. T impression at the breakfast table

I pity the fool who don't eat mah cereal!

Here at the Cinema Club, we love Mr. T!
Sharlto Copley also loves Mr. T. Double Win!

For the longest time I had a Peewee Herman ringtone on my phone. Every time I got a text message my phone would light up and scream: "LALALALALALA LAAA!" In a Peewee voice.

...ummm... best ringtone EVER.

Naturally.

I just had a really frightening realization. In the above photo, Peewee looks a helluvalot like NHLer Brad Marchand....

This Kid's got moxie.

...and I happen to think that Brad Marchand is hot like fire. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???

GEEZUS. I'd better stop here. Take that information as you may. My excuse for today's entry is this:

I fainted at the University and fell down the stairs.
This was me, minus the mattress:

Perhaps I bonked my head. Normal people don't post entries on the internet about how much they like Peewee Herman.

Say whaa? True story, bro.

Happy Birthday, Sharlto Copley!

Guess what, guys? Sexy Saturday alumnus Sharlto Copley turns 38 today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yes, this is him. No, you will never witness anything more adorable.

So Sharlto Copley is the cutest ever.

But what else makes him awesome? Well everything about him is likable. Literally, everything. There is not one aspect of Mr. Copley that we don't adore here at the Cinema Club. Except maybe that he isn't in more movies.

For every problem there is a solution.
But what is is about Sharlto Copley that we all adore so much? Everyone seems to agree that he is immensely talented, very funny, friendly, and just so freakin' cute

<3

One of my favorite things about Mr. Copley is how interactive he is with his fans. If you visit his Facebook, you'll see that he is incredible friendly and interactive with his fans, often using fanart for his profile pictures, and commenting on things that people post on his page. How awesome is that? He shows us that one can be a talented, successful actor and still be a friendly approachable human being. Really Sharlto, kudos to you.

Top 3 Reasons why Today's Birthday Boy is Amazing

  1. He possesses wells of talent. He gives us the tortured soul routine in District 9, then turns around and makes us all laugh out loud with his red carpet gags and his performance in A-Team.
  2. He is super friendly and interacts with his fans on a regular basis.  Not only does he post behind the scenes photos of the movies he does, but he uses some his fan's artwork as his profile picture and comments on the rest.
  3. He is incredibly classy and proper. You never see him in trashy celebrity magazines and he's never been arrested.

So, Happy Birthday Sharlto Copley! You are amazing and talented and your fans all love you very much. Keep up the good work!

Sexy Saturday: Sharlto Copley

The Cinema Club's 3rd weekly Sexy Saturday is proud to introduce:
Sharlto Copley!
Yes Please!
Sharlto Copley, born November 27th 1975, is an extremely talented and classy South African actor, director, and producer. Though this cutie flies under the radar mostly, he has appeared in two very big productions: as Wikus in Peter Jackson's District 9, and Mad Murdock in A-Team (2010).

Though I found his performance in District 9 to be very good (ahem, he won the "Best Performance of 2009" with that role), it wasn't until I saw A-Team that I saw him in a new light... (AKA: a Sexy Saturday Nominee).

His performance in A-Team was so highly amusing, he had me in stitches the whole time. There was something about a South African cutie flying a helicopter in Pajama Pants and a Red ball cap that just screamed AWESOME! to me...!!!
My Reaction to this? (View Below)...
MORE PLEASE!
Sharlto Copley as a pilot = my type.

I knew it was true love when, upon watching A-Team and the Helicopter chase scene came on, I screamed at the TV: "STALL YOUR HELICOPTER!" And, like a good neurotically zany pilot, Capt. Murdock stalled his chopper. Atta boy. ;)

As an Aviatrix, I find Aviators to be the sexiest men alive.

So not only is Sharlto considerably good looking, but he has this awesome sense of humor! He seems like a really great, funny dude. Here he is singing Sexy Back to Jessica Biel at a red carpet event... [link]. And here is the fookin' hilarious skit he directed and produced called Wikus and Charlize. It's really quite comical:
And unlike previous Sexy Saturday Alumnus Russell Crowe Mr. Copley here does not have a reputation for being cranky and mean. He hasn't been arrested, nor has he had any shame-worthy public faux-pas. Instead, he shows the world what a fun guy he is with his red carpet gags...
He borrowed the Tank Driver's helmet!
and he seems to interact a considerable amount with his fans.
He updates his facebook page often, posting behind-the-scenes photos and supporting his fans' artwork. Seriously, can an actor get any cooler than that???

Best.
I laughed. A little too hard.
So, Sharlto. You're hilarious. You're talented. You're sexy. Keep it up, and Congratulations on the Sexy Saturday ;)

What I would give to be your co-pilot...
Classy!

PS: Like Copley too? You can look forward to Elysium, which is expected to come out in '13!
